We'll make this as simple as possible. Our famous annual ONE-DAY-ONLY clearance sale is on this FRIDAY 4th JUNE. 9.30am - 6pm. EVERYTHING IS PRICED FOR CLEARANCE - not a pretend everything, but absolutely everything in the store has been given the treatment.
No, we won't be offering gift wrapping. You can be assured though, that our prices are going to be downright stupidly cheap.
There, we said it.
We're currently putting the finishing touches to the ridiculous specials over the entire range at Factory Sound, but here are 4 teasers to get you right in the mood:

New Portable Recorders by TASCAM
Portable digital recorders are by no means a new thing - but TASCAM has just upped the ante somewhat. This big collection of new recorders is not only packed with outstanding features, but is priced to make high quality recording now even more accessible to the masses.
Some are aimed more at the musician, some are perfect for the professional. The really nice part of this range is that each model has something unique to make it really obviously stand out as the right choice for a particular need. ALL of them have great sound capture quality. See all the new range by clicking here, and take a couple of minutes to study them.
Highlights for us: Dual record function in the DR2D (records a second stereo track at a much lower level, just in case you accidently fry the original gain settings). Portable multi-track on a budget (DR680), ideal for documentary sound recordists. XLR mic inputs on the DR100 for those wanting to use professional grade microphones.
Bear in mind, that ALL of these new DR Series Recorders by TASCAM are roughly half the cost that a similar (or lesser-featured) portable recorder would have been about a year or so ago. Definitely worth a closer look!
Read full postSennheiser Wireless Upgraded Capsule Offer e945
It's on again! Back in December, we were lucky enought to grab hold of two magic specials via Sennheiser, and they've reappeared on our 'great deals' radar! Please note, these will be offered for a strictly limited time - while stock is available - and we're not actually sure how long that will be for. Our advice is to definitely get on board as soon as you can, as these offers will probably be taken back off the table in about 2-3 weeks from now (quicker if stock runs out).
Deal 1: EW100G3 series WITH upgraded e945 capsule @ no extra cost
One of the most popular handheld radio mics on the planet EW145G3 is coming with a little bonus. All you need to do is order the stock-standard EW145G3, and advise us that you want a 'capusle ugrade', and instead of the standard '800-series' capsule, you'll get the awesome MMD945 capsule - it's from their e900 series, supercarioid dynamic. On it's own, the MMD945 is valued at $454 (recommended retail price), and if you've had a sing through the wired e945 mic, you already know how good it really sounds.
Limited time SPECIAL PRICE for EW145G3 WITH upgraded MMD945 capsule $909 (order code: EW100-945G3-B)
Deal 2: EW300IEMG3 in-ear wireless WITH extra bodypack and IE4 headphones @ no extra cost
This deal is even better than the one above! Far-and-away our most popular in-ear system, the EW300IEMG3 is (for a VERY limited time) coming with a bonus extra bodypack receiver, plus an extra pair of IE4 headphones. So if you're after 2 sets of in-ear monitors (running off one transmitter), this is definitely for you. Just to put into perspective how good a deal this is, an extra body pack receiver on its own (EK300IEMG3) has a Recommended Retail Price of $949. Yes, it's a great deal. No, there are no catches (other than get in quick before stocks run out).
Limited time SPECIAL PRICE for EW300IEMG3 WITH extra EK300IEMG3 receiver $1429 (order code: EW300-2IEMG3-C)

Radial DI - fully explained by someone who knows
The ins and outs of a great quality DI. Simple for some to grasp, but baffling for others. What makes for great quality direct injection? What's the difference between an active or a passive DI? Which DI is best for acoustic guitar or for bass. What about if it's an active bass? Why do I need a DI? If you've ever pondered these questions, then you'll no doubt be disappointed if you've checked out our video clip for Radial, DI.
So it's lucky that Peter Janis from Radial Engineering has popped a couple of his own tutorials up on the You Tubes. See below if you've got a few spare minutes, or if you're simply wanting to know more about ground loops and how to avoid them. The first one pertains to JDI - a passive DI by Radial (no batteries or phantom power required), starring a Jensen transformer. It goes for a while (7:59), but is very informative. Scroll a little further down this page and you'll see a tutorial on the mighty J48 - phantom powered advanced active DI. Peter talks through these products very well, so if you want to know more, definitely spend the time having a look.
And keep going with the J48 active DI explanation:
