Event 2020BAS monitors - Price drop!
You may already know the story of Event Electronics 20/20BAS powered studio monitors - released back in 1995, and RE-released middle of last year. They have an almighty sound (Big Ass Sound, according to Event Electronics), and due to some handy buying power and a happy $AUD, we've been able to hit an even sweeter price than usual on these.
While we've got stock, and we've just counted 16 PAIRS of 20/20BAS in our showroom, we're letting them go for a stunning $333 each. Y0u know the deal - separate shipping boxes means separate pricing, so no pair prices on this - $333 each - it's worth repeating.
Bring your test CD down to have a listen, they're well worth it.

With a sense of smell akin to a truffle pig, we've sniffed out a very tasty deal on these studio monitors. You already know that nothing excites us more than a great deal - and this one is right up there.
Fostex PM-1MkII studio monitors (RRP $899 for a pair), have come in virtually for a song. Since our $AUD is still pumping along and we like to buy in bulk, we've priced a new shipment of these for just $499. Not each - that's $499 for a PAIR of studio monitors.
You can have a look at our short product listing on PM-1MkII here, but if you'd like to dig a little deeper, keep reading.
First of all, they're self powered (bi-amped) with a 160mm woofer and 25mm tweeter. Physical dimensions: Height = 380mm, Width = 215mm, Depth = 250mm (a bit more to allow for the heatsink on the back - probably call it 350mm to allow for heatsink and cables).
On the back panel you get a power inlet (via IEC) and the on/off switch. Top left hand corner of the back is input section, via a combo connector (can take either XLR or 1/4" - balanced or unbalanced). Gain control is also on the back.
What you won't find on the back panel: many powered studio monitors thesedays have got some kind of room / EQ control on board, usually via a series of dip switches matching up to curves to help correct for sub / no sub, and placement of your monitors (against a wall, corner or in isolation). PM-1MkI I has none of this action, so you simply plug it in and get a great sound out of the box. It's just about impossible to find a more full frequency coming out of speakers anywhere near this price. Most often we see these monitors getting used by new home recording studio operators, in video production suites and by anyone else who wants a the biggest quality-to-dollar ratio possible.
We've got plenty of stock at the time of writing, but as soon as it's gone, the price goes back to normal. In other words, grab them while you can!

Aw... they grow up so quickly thesedays! Since RME first released the Fireface 800 (would you believe 9 years ago and still going strong!), things have gone from strength to strength with this marvellous series. Fireface 400 was next (compact size), and was then followed by Fireface UC - with USB port, which has cleverly been optimised for use specifically on Mac or PC (easily switchable should you change from one platform to another).
More recently, we've seen the exciting release of Fireface UFX, packing the supercharged Totalmix FX... and now (insert timani roll) the most recent member of the Fireface family: Fireface UCX. Compact, clever, and with a handy remote control - no doubt inspired by the popularity of the little Babyface USB interface.
You can see a good quick list of features, specs and connectivity here, but more importantly - as this was only realeased at NAMM a couple of weeks ago, stock is thin on the ground. So if you're keen and this is a 'must-have-now' tool for your studio, make sure you make contact asap as we don't have a huge amount of stock just yet.
Factory Sound has been a huge RME advocate since the get-go, and the reasons are plain and simple. Apart from the great sound - high quality AD/DA converters with BIG dynamic range - the support in Australia is fantastic, which is exactly what is required for anything 'hi-tech' that you depend on for your studio, project, and more often than not, your livelihood.
And just in case you've got nothing better to do (hard to imagine), here's a 4 min interview with Hermann Vega-Savon, RME CEO that we filmed at last year's Melbourne F1 Grand Prix. Luckily we filmed this before too much happy fluid had been consumed!
