Neumann KH 120 A - Active Studio Monitors are here
New from Neumann, the KH120A powered studio monitors are now ready @ Factory Sound for a listen.
You read correctly - this is not a new studio mic, nor is it a new stage microphone, or even a wireless capsule to suit Sennheiser wireless systems. It is a powered studio monitor, and an already well-decorated one at that.
The vital statistics are all here via Neumann website, but really the only way to get a feel of how these new monitors sound is to come in and have a listen. Obvious statement yes, but you'll be surprised at how all the different studio monitors sound as you flick through. BYO music, and make sure it's something you know.

You're possibly aware that we have a propensity to over-excite ourselves here at Factory Sound. If you have been following our blogs, emails or web-specials over the past couple of years, the admiration we have for Fostex PM series of active, nearfield studio monitors will have been obvious. Couple that with our boyish curiosity about lipstick, and it's a bit of a recipe for fun in our world.
Back to the Fostex PM-series monitors - we think they're simply the best bang for buck around, and when we get asked (frequently) the best way to improve studio monitoring on a budget, these come up trumps every single time. Of the range, PM05MkII is far-and-away the most popular. And so for that very reason, it gets the 'spotlight' this week.
And the lippy? You'll see in the promo clip below.

You know that Factory Sound is well-connected; our huge stocks of Canare and Neutrik are bigger than any other store in Australia. But if your needs are less DIY and more NSN (need something now), our Great Wall of Hosa should get you out of just about any corner you're likely to get painted into.
Not content with keeping a small handful each item, we've stocked up big time. If you lined up each of our Hosa leads end to end... actually, there's no way you'd want to have a go at that.
Just type Hosa into our search bar, and you'll find out what's going on. We've been growing into Australia's biggest Hosa fan for the last few years, and now we've got a seriously fat selection of Hosa leads, adaptors, console lamps - even Hosa labels for your cables. And because we've got our product search sorted now, you can just type the name of the console / converter that you need a lead for (ie; Yamaha, Apogee, Tascam, etc) and the relevant Hosa selections will come up - this is especially handy for a whole bunch of 25-pin D-sub leads that may have different wiring standards according to manufacturer specifications.
Of course, if you still don't find the lead your need, contact us and we'll sort you out.
