Goldmember 'phones bring the bling to your set
If you've been keeping up with our AudioTechnica journey, you'll remember Horibe* most recently from our trip to Integrate09. Aside from being a thoroughly good bloke (and a knowledgable one at that), he also has an impressive memory for all things 'Austin Powers'.
So, we were talking recently and the topic of our very own Dean came up. Horibe quickly said (in his best Goldmember impersonation) "Can I paint his yoo-hoo gold? It's kind of my thing, you know". After a slightly longer than awkward pause while we sipped an Asahi, we suggested that perhaps making a limited release pair of ATH-PRO700 GOLD headphones might be a little less painful AND way more people would get to see an AudioTechnica logo. "Oh yesh. Yesh yesh yesh yesh. This is a keeper" was the excited reply. I'm sure you'll agree that when he's wearing the 'goldmember' headphones, Dean looks "very toit. Yesh, toit like a toiger. Yesh Yesh Yesh"
*Horibe is real, the headphones are real, Dean is real, but most of the above is completely fabricated without permission from Dean, Horibe or even Mike Meyers. See an episode of FactorySoundTV featuring Horibe here. Get the headphones in store. They are seriously a limited edition, and we've only got 10 pair in stock. Recommended Retail Price is $349, but ring us or come in and we'll give you the full Factory Sound love when it comes to pricing.
Yesh, Yesh, YESH (i'll have what he's having)

Favourite friend of Factory Sound - and legendary DJ to boot - Carl Cox (the original 3 deck wizard) always brings a smile to our face when he's in town. Seems he was rather busy this time around. Carl was interviewed by HeraldSun entertainment writer Nui Te Koha, with the focus on digital technology for DJing.
- Read the interview
- See Carl using Traktor at his home studio for the HeraldSun multimedia presentation.
You'll soon see why Carl has been at the top of the DJ tree since first being named number 1 DJ in the world in 1997.
You can see some of Carl's work from last year on an old Factory Sound TV episode. Sure, you'll see Dean getting a little messy...

Pioneer BigWigs fly in to Factory
Well here's something that doesn't happen every day...
Factory Sound hosted Pioneer dignitaries from Japan and a new Managing Director of Pioneer Australia today, with a tour of our shop and informal discussion on the agenda.
Pioneer is definitely a company that knows where they've come from, where they're headed and how they're going to get there. We know that by keeping our nose to the grindstone, instead of in the food trough... and by keeping a foot in the door instead of in our mouth, we're going all the way with them!
If you'd like to keep up with Pioneer, keep an eye on factorysound.com - or just come on in.
We'll make sure you get looked after.
As usual, with Dean having not only his finger on the pulse, but every tentacle wrapped around where Pioneer Pro DJ is headed, he cut short a holiday to make sure he gave the word on the street.
In return he got exciting new product whispers, and a big discussion about all things Pioneer Pro DJ.
It wasn't all business and information think-tank...we had time for a group hug, huddled around the DigitalForce7000 pack.
Here's a few more pics from the night:
