Episode 5: Lunch at The Maori Chief.

Lunch at 'The Maori Chief' - Factory Sound TV caught up with Allen & Heath's Bardy Hayes when he was in town. We took him down to 'The Chief' swapped a few stories, shared a few drinks and found out the lowdown on Allen & Heath's digital console, iLive. We also got a sneak preview of what A&H has got coming our way…just remember you heard it first on Factory Sound TV.

We also had our first (and possibly only) viewer postcard delivered, and during this episode we'll take you behind 'staff' doors to see the bits you won't normally see when you come and visit.

Director's Notes:

Heaps of people must know Bardy, because we've had a lot of calls and emails that started with 'I saw Bardy on the podcast' – obviously he gets around. BUT it was Lionel's postcard that got the best reaction…or more accurately, the footage of all Factory Sound staff making a lead.

No matter how strong the urge, we managed to resist putting Yakety Sax as the background music to all the fast-motion action. Overlays of the Allen & Heath iLive80 console were easy, because editing is now using Song Vegas. Episode 5 used Vegas Movie Studio 8 Platinum (RRP $239), and it's far more powerful than iMovie.

For the record, the overlays were an image saved as 'png' format…that gave us the transparent background. And…did you notice the new microphone flag? The stickers weren't yet printed, so we cut them out of cardboard and stuck them on. If you look closely, you'll see the FS-TV antennas sticking up over the top of the microphone flag.
